To All Parade Participants:
In assembling our parade on Hillside Avenue during prior years, we have experienced difficulties and confusion.
The parade committee has established Hillside Avenue as one way traffic going north from Watchung Avenue to Main Street. All vehicles must enter Hillside Avenue from Watchung Avenue and proceed to their designated position in the parade. Park close to the curb leaving the left lane open for through parade traffic.
No vehicles will be permitted to enter the parade line-up from Main Street!!
Also, because of danger to children along the parade route, the dispensing or throwing of candy or any other item is strictly forbidden. Parade participants failing to abide by this will be immediately removed from the parade and will not be invited to participate in future parades. Your cooperation with respect to this is appreciated.
NOTE: The 2008 parade will be held on Friday July 4th rain or shine.

Hi Neighbors:
Once again you are cordially invited to participate in our annual Independence Day Parade. The 2008 parade will be held on Friday July 4th..
The parade will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. You will line up on Hillside Avenue as in prior years. Once underway, the line of march will proceed straight up Main Street to the Chatham Borough Middle School. Refreshments will be served there to all parade participants both adult and children.
Please report to your positions by 10:00 a.m. All vehicles should enter Hillside Avenue from Watchung Avenue where a parade marshal will direct you to your positions.
With a vision towards adding to the festiveness of our annual celebration, the Chatham Fire Department encourages organizations to create and enter floats in the parade. ALL FLOATS SHOULD NOT EXCEED 11’ 6’’ FROM THE PAVEMENT to insure railroad overpass clearance. Please refrain from any activity while turning.
We would appreciate your returning the enclosed response card by June 15th.
