JERRY CAPORASO ‘39 – GRAND MARSHALL OF THE 2000
FOURTH OF JULY PARADE

| Gerard “Jerry” Caporaso ’39 was
honored as Grand Marshall of Chatham’s traditional Fourth of July
parade. A resident of Summit, Jerry has spent more than 50 years in
the Chatham Fire Department, becoming a member in 1947. Jerry served as a crew member on a B-17 bomber during World War II and was a POW in Austria from 1943-1945. He was a Chatham post office employee for 38 years until his retirement in 1986. Jerry still keeps active with the Fire Department although he no longer actively fights fires. Congratulations to Jerry for this honor. |
