Frank Heffernan, science teacher and coach at Chatham High School, was
recently awarded the prestigious Princeton University Distinguished Secondary School Teaching Award. Each year since 1959 Princeton has honored at its
commencement four outstanding New Jersey Teachers for their contributions to the lives of secondary school students.
Each prize winner receives $5000 and the high school receives an additional $2500 for the purchase of library books.
CHS alums congratulate Mr. Heffernan on the receipt of this award.
Retirements Announced
Three long time members of the Chatham school district have retired. Many alumni/alumnae will remember Andrea Bent, Director of Guidance (26 years),
Alyce Keil, Language Arts at Southern Boulevard School (27 years), and Ruth Toor, librarian, Southern Boulevard School (29 years). Best wishes to them
in their future endeavors.
