Chatham Education Foundation
Supports Public Education
The Chatham Education Foundation (CEF) was founded
in1997 by a group of community leaders and concerned citizens who wanted to
support the tradition of educational excellence in the Chathams, despite the
continued state cutbacks to public education. To date, the CEF has donated
$75,000 in grants and gifts to public education in the Chathams.
The CEF is a not-for-profit organization
administered by a Board of Trustees that is independent from the board of
Education. Through annual fundraising, CEF is able to provide grants to the
school district and teachers for educational projects, materials, and programs
that would not normally be supported by the current state and local budgets.
Grants funded are selected in a competitive process based on quality and scope
of the proposed programs.
Chatham continues to provide an outstanding
educational program and ranks among the state’s best school systems. The
objective of the CEF is to ensure the standards remain high and educational
goals are achieved.
As alumni, you know first hand the value of those high standards. By supporting the Chatham Education Foundation financially, you can help to continue the excellence in education that you experienced. For those of you who are CHS Class Coordinators, please consider including the Chatham Education Foundation in your reunion plans as the recipient of a class gift or simply send along our current newsletter with your next class mailing. You can make a difference.
